What is Runway?

A shared operating picture from build plan to work cell.

Runway is a production-readiness and execution workspace built around one idea: the people planning the build and the people running it should be looking at the same constraints, dates and priorities.

The operating model

Five connected layers. One answer to “can we make the plan?”

Runway starts with demand, calculates material readiness, carries production context into work cells and shifts, then keeps constraints visible until they are resolved.

01

Define the product

Build or upload the BOM tree. Separate structure role from supply method and connect every item to the assembly that uses it.

02

Set dated demand

Enter finished units and due dates. The build plan becomes the reference point for readiness.

03

Calculate readiness

Compare required quantity with usable inventory, reserved stock, safety stock and expected incoming supply.

04

Run the work

Define work-cell standards, assign owners, balance operators, record actuals, downtime, scrap and shift notes.

05

Act on constraints

System-detected constraints and team-raised flags live together in an action-oriented roadblock view.

Layer 01 · demand + materials

Readiness is calculated against the plan, not against a generic stock target.

Products & BOM, build plan, inventory and incoming supply work together to determine what can be built by each milestone. The product can protect safety stock, account for reserved inventory and convert stock units into BOM units.

Layer 02 · process standards

Give every work cell a controlled operating baseline.

Process owners can create work cells, assign owners, define standard process steps and attach cell-level safety, quality, process and drawing documents. This turns the plan into something the floor can execute against.

1
Standard workSequence steps, standard times and practical crew ranges.
2
Controlled referencesKeep SOPs and other cell documents close to the work.
3
Work-cell visibilitySee which cells are exposed when materials or execution are at risk.

Layer 03 · shift execution

Turn the shift into a measurable operating record.

Supervisors can balance available people across standard steps, record dated actuals and capture downtime. OEE is calculated from recorded Availability, Performance and Quality rather than requiring machine sensors.

A
Operator balanceSee who does what, in what order, against standard process time.
P

Q

Layer 04 · action

Keep system-detected and human-raised problems in the same conversation.

Some roadblocks should be calculated automatically. Others only a person on the floor can see. Runway keeps both visible: material/manpower/process constraints from the system and flags raised manually by the team, with ownership and resolution history.

The product in one sentence

Runway connects what you plan to build with what can actually happen.

It turns production readiness, work-cell execution and roadblocks into one shared operating picture.
